In the Beginning: THE ART OF GENESIS features Fischers original artwork and the structural designs of master paper engineer Bruce Foster. Together they have created eye-catching spreads that include a medieval-inspired Garden of Eden, a graphic depiction of Noahs Ark, and a stunningly tall Tower of Babel standing 24 inches off the page. Theres a magnificent diorama depicting Jacobs dream of a stairway to Heaven, printed on acetate to create translucent stained glass windows.

Each pop-up is enhanced with narrative booklets recounting beloved stories from the book of Genesis, pull-outs with biblical verses, and flaps that re-create famous religious paintings.

Chuck Fischer marries extravagant artwork with biblical anecdotes in In the Beginning, explaining the various artistic depictions of the serpent in the Garden of Eden, angels appearing in the Book of Genesis, the fraternal betrayal of Cain and Abel, and the significance of the rainbow after the cataclysmic storm of the Great Flood. AMAZING! I just recently discovered this book in the store and I am hooked. I loved pop up books as a kid so when I first opened this book I was floored by the art, the engineering and the information. It is less of a book and more of a MASTERPIECE! Well done!!! I will be picking up more books to share with my family and friends!
