The Vancouver municipal election of 2011 heats up with many local debates on neighbourhood issues.

Although dominated by party politics, the Vancouver political scene is splintered as never before by 5-6 organized parties. This debate pit seven separate candidates from five parties in discussions around zoning, community planning, and urban agriculture. More candidates from four of these parties are introduced at the half-way point.

This debate was organized and paid for by the all volunteer Residents Association of Mount Pleasant.
The proceedings went as follows, with the timing of each section following its description and operating as a hyperlink to that point in the video:
1. Introduction 00:13
2. First Question on density and affordability of high-rise towers 07:48
3. Second Question on the STIR Program 20:03
4. Third Question on Spot Rezoning 32:08
5. Fourth Question on Community Consultation on New Development 45:10
6. Fifth Question on Industrial Land and Food Security 57:56
7. Statements by other Candidates 01:10:49
8. Audience Questions 01:20:15
9. Conclusion and Music by Melissa Bandura 02:25:45

Candidates featured (in order of seating): Ellen Woodsworth, Adriane Carr, Geoff Meggs, Bill McCreery, Elizabeth Murphy, Heather Deal, and Jason Lamarche (later joined by RJ Aquino)
