Wow. I'll leave your playing alone. Let's just say you're a (barely) intermediate player and leave it at that. More importantly:
1) You're dissing a jazz legend, on the internet, which means it will last *forever*.
2) Maybe you're missing something that DeJohnette and Erskine hear in this guy.
3) Your attitude flies right in the face of what Abercrombie - and ever other serious master - cultivates, namely, transcending ego in one's playing.

@JA22guitar - Mark, man - you are a good player - I just hope you realize it reflects poorly on yourself when you are so dissmissive of others in this art form......It may benefit you to start thinking about how "you don't care for this player" as opposed to the whole "if I don't like it, it is not jazz." grow up.
-
@JA22guitar C'mon now,did you really need to slam ALL Americans?
-
the idea of "proper groove" or "correct bop/jazz rhythmic phrasing" in a style which is highly improvisational seems a bit ridiculous.
-
by the way I know well over 300 standards by ear and don't need a book. I mean when you lift Bill Evans and learn the tunes directly from the composers versions, you really don't have to worry. You see that is why I am able to make the correct observations that I do. Please let me know if you need any help in learning jazz music I would be happy to help. Let me guess you are American right?

@TheMusiciansFriend ....I want to be your brother !!!!

@AtanasovPeter ....read my advise to JA22guitar. It might help.

@JA22guitar ....if you don't know what you talking about, stay away, or get yourself a book and learn the basics and then come back to this discussion. Sorry man.
