Audacity is a cool desperate last measure - it makes horrible quality music. You are literally recording through the microphone what goes on in speaker output. You dont need Audacity to do this, any microphone recording program is equivalent. You get all sorts of static, echoing, random noises.
Is there a way to record "sounds" that WOULD be made, but arent? Is there a way to record data that the computer processes as sound, but speakers and microphone are disabled?

for the 'get music from youtube' isn't it easier to copy the URL, then paste it on listentoyoutubeDOTTcom, THEN download the mp3?

@PwnStar099 He is not, I guess when he was starting out he didn't have many ideas. He also didn't have as much reason to be professional. he probably din't have the right tools either!

when i open audacity the only input options i get are Line-In and microphone

windows movie maker does this too.

the field in audacity that has the options to change to stereo mix... that field is inactive, I cannot change anything... there isnt any text in that box at all

haha, ok. Yeah, I compiled it with my computer volume set really low, so I had no idea how loud it really was. Lesson learned :-)
