Here's a clip of one of our home movies (The Kearney's) taken in the early 1960's of Jolly Cholly's Amusement Park located in Attleboro Mass.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. We had quite a debate about theproper spelling of Cholly's. My first job was at the BB booth at Lincoln Park in 1972. Remenber Crescent Park in Riverside?

  • I put an additional video of this under Jolly Cholly's Revised if you want to see it with better resolution (and longer).

  • Chris Kearney from Anawan Road?

  • No relation...

  • @yankeegurl62 My first job was at Burger Chef way back in 1973...

  • So there was an A&P across the street

  • @yankeegurl62 and Jeff

  • @luckiebean Lum's is now on route 114? sorry might be the wrong route but it's near the 99 restaurant in seekonk.....just up the street on the same side towards Providence...hope they are the same good roast beef sandwiches.

  • I remember that Jolly Cholly had the BEST... and I mean the BEST!!! pizza ever! Does anyone know if that recipe has been preserved? I have a fantasy that somewhere in the area there is an anonymous pizza place that is still serving made from some secret Jolly Cholly's pizza recipe, and if so - I want to know where it is!!!

  • Does anyone remember Howard Johnsons? Ratty's? and Lums?

  • I remember that!! does any one remember Burger Chef?

  • North Attleboro was the best place I could have grown up in during the 70's and 80's. I hear it is much different now. I haven't been there since 1992. Not sure if I ever want to go back. The woods where I hung out near Falls Pond have houses now. They took two of my friend's houses to build that huge mall in S Attleboro. Just not the same.

  • I won a free round of Mini Golf one day when I was a kid. I lived only about a mile from there. It was in North Attleboro.

  • I worked maintenance here in 1976 - something was always going on. Lots of fond memories, the food, the atmosphere the size and quaintness of it all. JC's, the North Bowl, the Boro & Plainville drive-ins, Bobby's Rollaway, A&W root beer in Attleboro with the car hops, Tex Barry's and Freits on Rt. 1 in Plainville and CB radios - who could possibly need any more while growing up. Oh yeah, forgot the motorheads at Friendly's parking lot...
