This is a review of the civilian version of the FN F2000. The trigger is easy to get used to with training, but feels uncomfortable compared to AR/M16 and quality hunting rifle triggers.

  • Is that a little tasco/leapers red dot on that sexy weapon?

  • @semblance8 It's BSA.

  • Hi, I never post comments, however this time I felt compelled. Coming from the viewpoint of a left handed disabled vetran of 22 years of service in the Army; I find the FS 2000 to be an excellent compact carbine. Several things you have mentioned as "negatives" to me are either non issues (neutral) or what I percieve to be a lack of training on your part. I mean no offense, however my FS 2000 runs flawless.

I do not have a problem in charging the rifle, I admit it requires me to shift my firin

  • @Holesinsocks Feel free to post comments, that is how we learn and share ideas.

  • There are NO cons to this gun. I have torture tested mine(1000 rounds straight)without 1 malfunction. You don't have a lot of experience with gas cut offs either. Don't talk shit on an amazing gun. If your in the military act like you are and get some smarts.

  • @rob77t1 1,000 round torture test with no malfunctions, I call bullshit.

  • Kinda like the review.

    They look dead sexy.

Nothing wrong with they guy saying , not a good rifle for me !!!

All rifles are so much fun , maybe a little focus on the flaws is a little more constructive during a review.

  • @jimmyhoffa9 Man your nuts, the AK47 is the king of battle and is often chosen by American Special Forces. Reliability, service life, and firepower are unmatched. I think you are confusing assault rifle with a battle rifle. There is a difference. The FAL is a battle rifle not an assault rifle. Also with proper lubrication the M16/M4 is a damn fine assualt weapon.

  • As far as this idiot's problem with the gas regulator: It was designed in the event that the ammo being used was sub-standard...which is to say it was underpowered. This isn't usually a problem for US troops that have decent ammunition, but in countries where they're buying 30 year old Yugo-surplus ammo that probably wasn't make right to begin with it can be an issue. Fact of the matter: If you don't need it, don't use it. But when you need it and don't have it you sing a different tune.

  • You suck at explaining things

  • I love unbiased reviews.

  • to go against your statement "its not a great combat weapon" (I agree) the m4/m16 sucks as a combat weapon. so does the ak. and the british l85's. very very few militaries have great combat rifles. now a FAL, thats an AWESOME rifle. . .:P

  • meh I'm a lefty and I find the charging handle just fine where it is. prefer it tbh than it being directly in front of me, not sure why though.

  • Should you feel the need however, Dr. Coffee makes a drop in sear unit to reduce trigger pull weight, and Judo chop makes a charging handle from billet aluminum. I havent got around to these purchases yet as I have plenty of other more pressing things to do. I will say however, that once you put a good 300 rounds through it, the pull gets a little lighter from the break in.

  • Should you purchase a FS2000 as I have there are a number of things you can do to enhance your shooting experience. I replaced the composite arched front handguard with the FN Tri rail mount in 2009, and added an insight technologies light with laser to the bottom rail. I also added a C-More reflex sight on top of a scout riser mounted forward. I crafted a 1 point sling instead of going with a purchased one, as I was able to equal or even exceed what was available at the time.

  • The basic operation of the FS is centered on the charging handle to perform all it's main functions, like racking a slide back on a pistol. For example, should you need to clear the rifle, drop the mag, and charge it. it will send the last round chambered down the tube to be ejected into the palm of your hand. to load it, insert mag, charge, and place on safe. There is no need to apply SPORTS for a malfunction as we learned to do with the AR platform in the army.

  • Thanks for the invite, aaron. The largest obstacle in the acceptance of the FS is the fact that it's manual of arms is totally different from the AR platform we all grew up on. In many ways, this carbine has been minimalised into "what is needed" and left at that. For example, there is no last round hold open feature. There is no "forward assist". These are features a rifleman can do without. It's design makes those features moot.

  • ah well. i love the F2000 series design and location of the magwell. (prefer to Tar21 and L85 style)

  • I wrote you a huge comment to find it got cut after the first paragraph :) in short- the FS 2000 is Not an AR series rifle and dont treat it like one, its manual of arms is completely different and your problems are from a LACK OF PROPER TRAINING in it's manual of arms.

  • Want a great Bullpup get the Kel tec RFB.

  • Very nice video... I will continue to use my ARs :)

  • I own an fs2000, it's a great rifle. I feel the positives outweigh the negatives. It has a great feel when shouldered. The backup sights suck & the trigger is a bit stiff. There is a trigger kit & aftermarket optics to remedy these issues. Its a totally different flavor compared to an AR platform, not everyone will like it. Some may love it. I love mine.

  • It's pronounced am-bi-dex-trous, not am-bi-dex-tri-ous.
