@daexion yes but old mess doesn't mean anything. The f-15 is old too, but its still in service. So is the b-52, which is very old. The reason that the f-14 is no longer in service was because the us navy didn't agree to Northrop Grumman's proposal to upgrade the f-14 to catch up with technology, but instead they took another plan which was to replace the f-14's with f/a-18's. So yeah the f-14 was brought out of service :( its such a pity :( I never managed to see one in person :/
