  • FYI They are fussy with the grind, you cant be too fine. You should not get pre-ground, because it is too fine (per your tech). I had to dial up my burr grinder to a little more "rougher" so I could get pressure in the basket for it to pour. I almost sent my machine in, until I talked to your tech.

  • @dwaterpolo Yeah, if you're using a good grinder, definitely the case; most often, however, people are either using pre-ground or a grinder that doesn't go fine enough for espresso to begin with, which is why we refer to them as not being fussy - Kat

  • Ugh! I sure wish you would get these back in stock! I found them in stock on another web site, but really want to give you folks the business. Any idea when? I've modified my pressurized filter, but just can't get it to pull right, plus you cant really check the rat-tail with the way it drips straight through the two little holes. Thanks for all your great videos!

  • @DarbyRides We will! Saeco discontinued them and then we found an untapped store of them in Europe that we brought over, but when those were done we had to make them ourselves. We are in the manufacturing process right now and these are much higher quality than the Saeco versions, so hopefully worth the wait. We are hoping this month, but no firm ETA as yet. - Kat

  • Are you still aiming for 20-30 seconds with that handle?

  • @Cybrok yeah, it's going to be like any traditional extraction once you use this type of handle. - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Excellent!!! Thanks, Kat.

  • @tekniksffd

I got mine directly from Saeco. Love it.

  • @tekniksffd I believe you'll still want a 53mm tamper. We have had customers tell us about depressurizing their stock portafilter with good results, although we never have tried it here. I'll run it past Gail to see what she thinks :) - Kat

  • hi Kat, Here I am, looking your videos like every day. I can't find that portafilter here in Spain so I'm going to modify my portafilter to depresurize and test the experiment ;P What tamper size do you recommend me??

An idea: why don't you do it yourself and upload a video with your conclusions? would be interesting

    Thx
