Audience member: "Why is it that someone like my father who goes to school for 13 years gets penalized in a huge tax bracket because he's a doctor."

McCain: "I think it's to some degree because we feel obviously that wealthy people can afford more."

Audience member: "Are we getting closer and closer to, like, socialism?"

McCain: "Here's what I really believe: That when you reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more."

  • Those screaming socialism need to look up the definition. Do you think Obama will nationalize every fortune 500 company and seize your property? Do you also support eliminating the public school system and shutting down the interstates, they to are socialist in nature. The majority of the idiots crying this the loudest will gain from his tax plan and never make anywhere the 250 K a year where tax raises kick in. What happened to educating oneself before running your mouth?

  • Cune47, what difference does it make if the girl compares the tax to slavery? The answer from McCain is the same answer as Obama's to Joe the Plumber. Now McCain is calling Obama a "socialist" when he himself supported and defended tax breaks for the middle class at the expense of the wealthy "who can afford to pay more" in 2000. McCain's answer then and rhetoric today exposes him as a liar, a hypocrit and a flipflopper, ie. someone who can't be trusted. (BTW:Full interview in my favs)

  • @Nimbostratus1111 Please I BEG OF YOU go live in a country where they implement these socialistic policies you speak of. There you will see just how hard it is to get fair medical treatment from doctors that make as money as somebody cleaning gutters.

  • This is precisely why the media singled out him out in 2000 and 2004 for so much love and attention.

Not so much of course in 08 when he'd won the nomination and was running against a Democrat.

  • "to like...socialism..and stuff?" lol

  • ya but what ur forgetting is 9/11 changed everything. l0lz

  • @SwissCheeseGaming No, I am a Objectivst.

  • @nero8289 I sense a Republican? Typical...

  • what idiots (people who think they are PENALIZED by paying taxes) are !!!

do you f**king share and shut the F**k up and STOP acting like you have it so tough ! Because you greedy asses have it better than a lot of people out there !

  • @johnstja What happened to educating oneself before running your mouth? I think you need to take your own advise.

  • Not just 'socialism', 'socialism...and stuff?'

Hope she took it hard in all ends from some random Jerry Sailors that night. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Until you can articulate and identify your views on a subject matter, don't argue with the big boys - who've probably been to school a fuck longer than 13 years.

McCain seems like the best Republican out there. Absolute shame what's happened to him. Still, Obama looks like he has the right policies for now.
