  • What really really upsets me is that you are taking the name of HaShem into the bathroom!

  • @23withthemoneytree that explains a lot

  • @stormbytes I do not read bible I use kabbalah )

  • @23withthemoneytree it says that God created man in his likeness. There is no talk of any "higher world". Learn your bible and stay off the dope.

  • @KinoDrummer that's horse shit logic as ear piercings could just as easily fall into that train of thought

  • Lol the stoner's interpretation of the ksoves ka'aka issur.

  • it is said that in the bible that you may not hurt yourself on purpose, tattoos being a painful process are outlawed by that law alone.

  • This year is very speical , it's encoded in the pyramid ! 481 the height of the pyramid times 12 of the zodiac = the jewish new year 5772, 29th of September 2011 . Spread the good news !

  • in the Commandments says that we are created in the likeness of the higher world and spoil your body is not necessary but I think the tattoo is beautiful, not for nothing that the ancients used as a defense..

  • Patrick,

When trying to convince people that you are straight, perhaps you should say "worshiping Ba'al", not "Baal worship". The guttural stop between the a sounds helps a lot.

  • I don't think tattoos have to do with a sign or anything of such, I think the probation is about scarring or marring ones body. I think Tattoos do scar or mar the body, cause if you try to remove, it does leave a mark. I have never heard the context you are spaeaking about. Anywhoo, I have 4 tattoos, but I don't try and display.

  • If I had a tattoo i would want to be called Skunk Torah.Just kidding but Arizona has about 4 diff kind of skunks though.Funk Torah would be ok to but i dont smoke pot anymore but California knows i do.I havent figured out why?Tramp stamps are birth marks actually.I still havent figured out why?So your look is like a young Rebbe, as in the Rebbe?I never thought about him being as young as you .cool peaches.Brooklyn is crazy though. What bout Jesse James in So Cal?I think tattoos are a paradox.

  • @punktorah To bind, is to wrap. With tefillin we sure are making a sign on are arm...and they are a symbol (totafot) between our eyes! and also, if the Torah forbids tattos, theres no way around it. There is a reason for tattos, and i think you should have a serious talk with a Rabbi about tattos to see if he can disprove your theory...because im sure he will be able to, in a way you will understand. Regardless cheers to your Observancy, and may H' give you the power to learn and do mitzvos! :D

  • haha this is amazing. you've inspired me; maybe i'll get a tattoo one day.

  • @punktorah

so basically, after the 2nd Beis Hamikdash(sadly) was destroyed, Rabbonim had to come up with a way to bring Judiasm out in a different sense, and light for the People to follow. You can't mock the hundreds of years of hard work they put into gemara, dedicating lives to Torah Study and context, so you cant base an opinion off of one translation, just like that. Im happy you can connect with G-d! now look at different heters ;P

  • Firstly, I never suggested I feel guilt about what I do, though it may be against the torah. Secondly, there's not an issue of whether it's ridiculous or not. It's an issue of what the torah says. Now, whether you understand why the torah wants it, is something else. In your opinion, it's "ridiculous" (and if it is, who's forcing you to put it on?), but that's what the torah says. It's just that you don't understand it, so you think it's ridiculous. But then, neither do I understand most of it.

  • I think you have to look at things in context. Example: how many biblical patriarchs married non-Jews? No reason to feel guilty about who you bond with. As I said earlier, "bind as a sign on your arm". how is a tattoo any more ridiculous than winding a dead animal's flesh around your arm and on top of your head?

  • It never says to do that. Later rabbis took that as its meaning. the moral of the story is that we all find meaning in different ways. we all search for ways to connect with G-d

  • Finding excuses for doing something that the Torah forbids doesn't make it "kosher". It just makes you feel guiltless about it. When I don't keep shabbos and kosher, or occasionally date a non-Jewish guy, I know what I'm doing is "wrong" in god's eyes, but I still do it. But I won't look for reasons to make it "kosher".

  • @punktorah One is the immutable word of G-d, and one isn't. Duh.

  • @Ihatetoprocrastinate ...she said! just kidding. yeah, im a southerner

  • @onemanband613 i actually do. i have a terrible cold.

  • @ng07977 "bind as a sign on your arm". how is a tattoo any more ridiculous than winding a dead animal's flesh around your arm and on top of your head?

  • looks more like 5788

  • Torah without respect. what a stupid idea.
