Our last game in the Gator Bowl. Ironically, it was against a team from Mississippi. But this Michigan team was much better than this year's squad. These guys were 6 points shy of playing for national championship. Blue put up over 700 yards of offense.

  • @TheAntihero6212 and now he's in the Federal Booty House.. amazing how people can fall from grace

  • Ole Miss was not that bad, either that season. They came into this game 9-2, (5-2 in SEC play, tied for third with Alabama), their only losses of the regular season came against Auburn (24-10) and eventual 'unofficial' conference champion Tennessee (22-13)

[BTW, I said unofficial on Tennessee B/C Florida actually won the SEC in Steve Spurrier's first year, but couldn't go to a bowl game B/C of NCAA Violations. Tennessee finished right behind them at 5-1-1, but they got the Sugar Bowl bid.]

  • Michigan gained 715 yards of total offense in this game, still one of the highest totals in a bowl game in CFB history. Also, it was the only time ever in the history of postseason bowl games that a team gained 300 yards both rushing AND passing in the same game.

  • @BlitzinLB27 Actually, it was giving to U-M's entire O-Line. But, you could be right on that one.

  • Greg Skrepenak won MVP in this game if im not mistaken..

  • Odd that 20 years later to the day Michigan played in the same in bowl, agaist a mississippi-team.

  • this the mu team we need cmon coach hoke

  • That was the Gary Moeller era, where players posed for team pics in their uniforms. Then Lloyd Carr took over and they started posing for team pics in suits and ties. That Sucked.

  • @sseeplane

I'll probably still send the bottle of wine, but I might lace it with arsenic.
