Well, I don't think the point (of this video at least) is to 'improve your life'. I think the main point here is that there are a lot of unsubstantiated beliefs around (like hers in paranormal things) that stem from not being critical enough. If people really knew how much could be done with mere suggestion, as in this video, they might be less likely to accept exotic explanations for things which seem extraordinary, but are in fact quite common..

however since your mind controls you
your mind IS you, it controlls you and as much as you wish it didn't, your mind has complete and utter control over you
if you control one's mind you control everything that they are

I admit this is mind blowing. But this amazingly works with anybody who has a strong belief. What about skeptics like me? I don't believe in anything. How can I use these techniques to improve my life?

Hypnosis and NLP work when a person becomes suggestive. There are all kinds of levels of suggestibility, each person reacts differently. If you are ready and in reject mode, it will be hard to impossible to influence you. The idea with NLP is that it's not something you are told that is being done to you. Take the example of when he takes a person wallet just by talking, or paying with paper instead of real money. He takes advantage of confusion of the moment.
