This is the second movement to the 3 beats. Voice, beatbox and flute all together...This piece was composed during the winter of 2010-11 for the National Flute Association Convention High School Competition, Charlotte, 2011. It was specifically written to bridge the gap between western flute styles and human beatboxing. There is no improvisation, everything has been notated and written down (GP is playing by memory). Also, it is encouraged to use a microphone for performance, especially for large rooms, but not necessary. The music will be available this weekend at the convention in hard copy format, and available online in the very near future - stay tuned in for the rest of the Beats (movements) and more info on online availability....
And, big thanks to all the high school contestants that worked this piece up and gave it such an awesome premier - you all rocked it hard!
