Anonymous : Dublin : December 5th : State of the Nation : Communique No. 3

Tonight we are taking the opportunity to speak to you directly on the challenges we face as a community, as a movement , and as a generation.

We live in exceptional times.

And we face an exceptional challenge.

It is important that you understand the scale of that challenge

and how we can address it.

That challenge:-

To restore democracy.

To create an equitable and sustainable society, run democratically, in which the vulnerable get protection and care, not crocodile tears.

A society in which charity is seen as a necessary evil, not a chance for the rich to let people know how virtuous they are.

At the end of this year our society is in deep crisis.

At the end of last year, our society was in deep crisis.

It was the same the year before.

And the year before.

And the year before.

And while some small steps to confront the crisis have been taken by our networks - We remain in crisis today.

We would love to tell you tonight that the worst is over.

But, for far too many of the 99 per cent, that is simply not the truth.
