Day 24: Does Chocolate Cause Acne?

http://www.dietriffic.com - Does chocolate give you acne? Can it cause spots, pimples, and zits?

I've been eating healthy for three weeks. My skin looking better than it had in ages.

I then ate chocolate. Did it have any affect?

I think it depends on the person. I can eat chocolate and my skin is pretty clear. I have also heard theories that it is the milk or sugar in it that causes acne not the chocolate itself. Honestly, that sounds plausible as more than 1 cup of milk in a day makes me break out like crazy. It would be interesting to see if you break out after eating a high percentage dark chocolate bar as those are almost pure chocolate with no milk and very very little sugar.

@ObeseToSlim I didn't mention it, but it was dark chocolate I ate. Like I said though, it doesn't happen to all people. You're one of the fortunate ones :)

I'd be surprised if it's the cocoa, but there's something in it that reacts negatively to a lot of people. Whether it's the chocolate making process of some companies, the high temperatures changing the compound of the ingredients, the various chemicals or whatever, I just don't know.
