if you want to get a relatively equial EQ setting for AIMP3, take the AIMP2 EQ setting and write it down in a spreadsheet, and write the AIMP setting below, and complete the settings you dont have in AIMP3 by interpolating the values, i did' it and the sound quality is AMAZING!
-
with the"same" EQ setting, you can't get the same sound quality, because, even when both AIMP has 18 bands for EQ, they are not spread in the same way, i mean the first and second band (from left to right) are for 31 and 63hz, but the third in AIMP 2 is for 125hz whil in AIMP 3 is for 87hz.

This helped me: Go to Options/Sound effects/DSP Manager, click on "Normalize by amplitude".
-
In Aimp3 sounds like the EQ was off. I try with ASIO and Aimp3, but sometimes doesn't load the next song or uses more cpu resources.
-
My impression is similar.
AIMP3 sounds like having a slight normalizer active all the time.
I have ASUS XONAR D2 and KLIPSCH RF-42 II speakers, routing audio by SPDIF @ 96K, with ASIO 24bit / 96K sampling, stereo 2.0. Sounds like I have DRC (dynamic range compression) active, and I don't because listening THE same music (FLAC) in foobar2000 (ASIO 24bit out) volume is 20-30% louder, and sound much clearer.
Same sound on headphones (SONY MDR V700 are ok for Rock/Industrial/Electro).

just ajust the frecuence ... !! put max

this type of tests are always with the Eq in flat..

have you made the comparison with other players (Winamp, Foobar)?

@giova942 Winamp sounds better than AIMP3 and does not experience any problems (actually it can't seek through certain m4a files like the Tytanium Sessions podcast from Sean Tyas) Foobar sounds better than Winamp and can seek through the m4a files however AIMP 2's sound quality still rivals all the above players even without any EQ applied. At least to me it sounds the loudest and the clearest, but I won't lie I was almost impressed with Foobar.

that's weird.... have you discovered any reason for this huge difference in sound quality? or is it because of the codec/ssettings of each version of Aimp?

@giova942 No I haven't and it only happens to me when I use AIMP 3. I posted this video on the AIMP forums and I got less than an optimum response. :(
