Stroke survivor, Steve, received occupational therapy at home after a major stroke incapacitated him 3 months earlier. We enlisted the services of a home health agency that sent therapists to our home to help him learn how to walk and use his arm again. This video shows the exercises the occupational therapist used with Steve. Read more about his stroke recovery at http:/www.strokesurvivorblog.com

  • It takes a positive attitude and an extreme amount of repetition, dedication and perseverance on your part to do the exercises. With that, there is a chance that you will regain full function of your hand. But don't put a time limit on it. I wish you well on your stroke recovery journey.

  • Thank you for the video. I have a 10 year old child that had a stroke and I can't afford to take him to therapy as much as I would like.

But this video gives me more ideas of what to do to help my child.

I hope your husband is doing well, he look great in the video!

    Thank you again

The video shows an occupational therapist working with my husband at home. Steve is a retired home builder, and he wants to get the use of his arm and hand back. This particular movement also helps the shoulder pain he's having from it being dislocated.

  • Good job, and he is cleaning the table too. :)
