Oh, I remember that sound so well. The County Mounties around here did not like it at all. Eventually all the guys had to take it off because of the noise level although it did come from GM like that. Hotrod

Engine is a stock L78 396-375 - 242/242, 114/108, .520"/.520" gross lift and lash at .024"In/.026"Ex.
However, the compression ratio is 9.6 to 1, instead of the stock 11 to one. I have no problem running on pump gas!

No headers. Cast iron exhaust manifolds dump in to the stock exhaust.

Thanks for all of the kind words! The exhaust system is a reproduction Chambered Pipe Exhaust that was offered by Chevrolet in 1969. Gardner Exhaust faithfully reproduces this system, which is on my car now.
