Fake War Part 1 of 2 (English Sub)

On March 13, Georgian tv station "Imedi" ran a "war simulation" that said nothing about being a simulation as it went on and told people that Russia was attacking Georgia, that Georgian President had reportedly been killed, and soldiers were dying...
Imedi told the audience before and after the 30 minute "simulation" that it was a simulation, disregarding the fact that many people could not know that if they tuned in the middle of the report.

more info: Imedi TV is owned by News Corp, and is a private company (not state run). The most pro-government station is Rustavi2 but that too is private.

Although I support the present Georgian government, and am happy that Georgia has rebuilt its military, I cannot accept this. 3 people DIED of heart attacks and strokes while watching this. They should have at least made it publicly known and understood that a documentary on possible future events would soon air long before this actually aired.

@warpedcomedy Georgian government did not authorize this. Saakashvili did not personally authorize this - he even said that his own grandmother got scared because she saw that (apparently) he had been killed...

ImediTV is government-leaning. Does not mean that government runs it... Same cannot be said of the Russian news though, and of course they all blame Saakashvili personally for this "lie" (like these weren't actual images from '08 war??)

Same propaganda, tho not as hard core and shamelessness) is used in Russia today - Russian government creates hysteria about USA( along with NATO) constantly plotting a devastating attack on Russia. Sometimes Russian propaganda machine claims that USA is trying to demoralize our youth by means of injecting them with "Allien culture" I shit you not that's what they call Mcdonalds.

USA/NATO have not invaded Russia and are not at the present occupying 20% of Russias territory. US/NATO do not also have 100x more money than Russia and 50x more army.

they claimed they were saving the people after georgians kileld 2,000. TOTAL casualties of war on both sides, military and civilian, were less than 1,000. and this all coming after russians kill off HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of chechnyans. you think they will not pull another excuse out of their asses if Putin felt like it?? you would call this propaganda??

@lashatotladze There are no terrorists in Afghanistan or Iraq. Terrorists don't fight for their country - they fight for money. So whoever is being killed in those countries are not bad people - they are patriots. You say that religion doesn't matter, but it because it doesn't matter to you. To muslim people living in Middle East it matters a whole great lot. And their goal is to spread it as far as they can. Ever heard of their plans to build a mosque near 9/11 site? Next stop - your hometown.

we are fighting for justice, we don't want anything what belongs to others, we just are fighting for our lands, and if you will read georgian history you will mantain that georgians were called mamlucks by turks, we were good fighters and we always were fighting so that enemy had huge looses, we escaped from the biggest empires.. ! and will escape from russia too...
