Same setup as in clip 1 but here I switched to a partially discharged 9V battery showing just under 7v on the meter. The rechargeable battery was just me trying to put a load on the motor.. it was totally dead.
I am finding that adjusting the commutator (closed circuit positions) I get big differences in results. As an example, after the motor slowed right down I thought the batteries were toast.. I adjusted the closed circuit position on the commutator and it sprang right back to life again with 4v (same batteries).. interesting stuff..

  • Does there have to be a point?

How about an inefficient motor made from articles laying around the house running off of less than 7v while charging a dead cordless phone battery.. for this little project, thats plenty of point.

  • Now take that 7v and try and power up any motor you have and see how long it will run for.

  • what dous it do

  • It runs for a very long time on a small power source. This was my first motor

  • Fantastic, looks so simple I almost have mine complete I just can't figure out about the damn commutator like how is the commutator made how is it connected and do you have to set it for some sort of timming.Thanx

  • Thank you for your video.

    Good Job!

Watching your video allowed me to complete my motor and get it running.

Simple and straight forward, not just a cluster F*** of wires.

    Damn Good Job!
