Is this version where the lyrics come from or did another vocalist work on them with Herbie, first?

@acidbearboy Thanks! I'll see what I can make of it... :)

Does anyone have the lyrics of this? I'm trying to write them down for my band, but am unable to hear them all.
For example:
Once upon a time
A little kid a knew
Wanted..... ?
Read at bedtime too
The same counts for what she says after herbie's solo at 3:23...

@quicktolisten I thought so too, to 'hear the lyrics', but I really don't understand most of what she says. But I'm hoping to play this with a band, so I do want to know the lyrics. Any help? like what does she say at 3:23 after the solo? No clue...

pretty damn sexy. <3

I don't know. But his version reminds of Hiroshima with Herbie Hancock. Not that it happened, but it's a great "what if." This is a very nice effort. And the fact that Herbie is included makes it that much batter a tune. Very smooth jazz.

Lovely Kimiko with H.H. so good.
@rvdpadt
Have put my best guess in the info section, just a couple of lines after the solo I can't quite make out.
However, as Herbie Hancock's original version of this track was instrumental, it seems to be cool to just make up your own words. Check out other covers by Norman Conners and Sylvia Gordon, both of which have unique lyrics.
Quincy Jones has also done a nice arrangement of it too.
