Peter Bowerman (aka Spear) 1st, 3rd & 4th race in the FAA Golf GTI and Classic Touring Car Championship (round 1 & 2) 16th April at Guadix race track in Spain Spear managed to come hih up in the grid with a very good qualifying, but then unfortunately broke a drive shaft in race 1 and cound not repair it in time for race 2, so got zero points in the first two races of 2011, not a good start.

In the second meeting on the 2nd September 2011 at the Tabernas Almeria Spain circuit stated well with Peter winning his class in race 3 of 2011 and coming 2nd in class in race 4 of the year after taking a heavy hit in the side from the green No.5 GTI.

Stephen the other team driver (Orange GTI) unfortunately had a seized engine in both the Guadix and Tabernas race meetings he is hoping to have the engine re-built ready for the next Race weekend at Ascari race resort on the 2 October 2011. The touring car will be joining the Classic Touring cars again as usual.

FIA GT FAA VW Mk2 Golf GTI Racing & Classic Touring Car Championship 2011, Top Fifth Gear Action With 2009 Time Attack Winner Spain 2009, Video and on board camera of Spear, in the black Golf GTI and Stephen in the orange Golf GTI in the 2nd round of the 2011 FAA Volkswagen Golf GTI Championship Cup & Classic Touring Car Championship, which is sponsored by Parrot Bluetooth & Colombes professional Racing F1.

Peter makes up a team of 2 British GT racers who have formed the team MarbellaPlayers.com racing team which will compete in this years Golf GTI and Touring Car Championship sponsored by DistressedSalesSpain.com & OverseasDreams.com, two of the Costa Del Sol's busiest Real Estate Agents. There were loads of great fifth/top gear action and side by side racing, all throughout the grid

Golf GTI racing is a very popular form of motorsport across Europe and found its way to Andalucia last year. This class is comparatively cheap to enter in to, and because of this is generating a lot of interest.

The classic Mk2 Golf GTI's will race with the Classic Touring Cars between each round of the main FAA Touring Car Championships. The GTI championships will have their own trophies and winners prize money of 3000 euros.

The cars have to be a Mk 2 Golf GTI 1.8cc with 8 valves, the cars have to remain fairly standard apart from the regulation race kit which includes: racing suspension, anti roll bars, engine mounts, racing brakes, straight through exhaust, roll cage, 6 point harness, fire extinguisher, F1 cut off switches etc. that have to be fitted.

There will be 10 races to be held throughout the year in Andalucia that will take in circuits such as Jerez, Ascari, Guadix, and Tabernas circuit in Almeria.
