@TheLira70 I am not making excuses for Ash. I just think we need to give him time. I know that we want a ready made QB at UT but that doesn't happen every year, nor does it happen all the time everywhere else. Let him get the spring and summer workouts under his belt and lead this team next year. I think then we can draw healthy conclusions; Please don't draw conclusions on a Freshman who wanted to RS in the first place. Time and patience people.

@1977seabiscuit Yea. I thought Gilbert was a great QB. More than 75% of his INT's came from missed blocks on the line. Ash played just as bad.
-
@TheLira70 That proves my point. Gilbert wanted to be a Div I quarterback but he still needed time to develop. He tried to please everyone and couldn't. He didn't develop right and look where he is now. David Ash needs time to learn the system with the right pieces in place to develop properly. To expect him to be Matt Barkley in his first year is asking for a miracle. You are a fool if you expect him to prove something to you or others his first go around. Give him time.
-
@1977seabiscuit He is young. However, when committing to a Division I University a lot is expected. Take Gilbert for example. Throw into the BCS his freshman year.
-
It isn't asking too much. It's Texas. We expect more, and all I'm saying is improve or move on. He has to prove it to everyone to keep his spot. What are you, his mother?
-
It's not asking a lot if you play at Texas. What are you, his mom?

@sambo179 David Ash doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. He is a young man who
will find his way, but to expect a true Freshman to be spot on throwing the ball without being somewhat rattled is asking alot.

Well....we've now seen that this kid can't hit the broad side of a barn in college. Not saying it's over, I think Texas and their coaching staff will give him more opportunities to throw a few more picks before the fat lady sings. All I can say is prove me wrong kid.
-
Came back to watch his HS highlights to see how much his play has changed. You definitely can't throw these passes that seem to hang in the air forever in college. But he's got moxie. He can rally a team to a win. I know we'll see him do that at Texas before all is said and done.
