Truly, Richter is our man-God forever giving all of us this heavenly experience of implacable rhythm,
an almost visceral force when he brilliantly switches dynamic extremes of lyricism, fire and stillness.

@fquesada Just shows how good a musician he really is however, always producing good sounds no matter the piano :)
-
@aldebussy hahaha did he really play a lot a lot of repertoire

Let me add some more. Glenn Gould, a great Richter admirer (see interview in youtube) complained that Richter did not know how to build a better image of himself through his recordings. G.G. said that Richter would play in any piano and didn't know much about how to produce a good recordl

Excellent composer and performer. However Abidoful's has made a point.. Recording technology from the soviet era was not exctly the best. I had an LP with this recording and the sound was poor. Soviet artist were not accostumed to demand the best instruments, studios and recording engineering. "Demanding" was a good word durign the soviet era.

Are you saying that Rimsky-Korsakov orchestration is not good enough for you?

Richter is the Maestro.

Thanks for posting!! I have a very personal relationship with this piece and the recording (I presume with the Galzunov no 1 and Prokofiev no. 1 on the same disc). Wow, Richter is such an idol!
