Don't trust PNB. My mum was a depositor and has 71000 in that bank. But unfortunately she couldnt get the money back even if she tried to reactivate her dormant account. The National Treasury didnt find any reports between the period of 10 years so their guess is someone from the bank used my mum's money. PNB is shameful.
@seedfoundation2010 sir i guess 71,000 won't run out until 13 years even if they charged it every month for 13 years. when she went to the national treasury, they looked for their reports for 1997-2007 (dormant accounts for 10 years) but they didn't find any. do you know what was their implication? maybe someone in the bank used the money perhaps the manager.
Why not brod? esp if there is already a change of management. PNB now is owned by Mr.Lucio Tan, now a privately owned company. That is why your mother's 13 years ago experience is already in the past. Bank policy states that a dormant account for 2 years will have charges until her account got closed i guess esp for 13 years dormant!
Its just a matter of educating ourselves regarding such matters before we go to the issue of trust. I am a remitter here abroad and sends in 90 secs to PNB.
Never trust PNB. My mother was a depositor 13 years ago. Her account became dormant and got closed. She tried to activate her money but she couldn't. She even went to the National Treasury in Manila to check her account but there wasn't any report from that bank. Should we still trust this kind of bank?
That was a long time ago when it was government owned... things changed or bought out by private companies such as this one.
