Hmmm...it wasn't just Latin America that Hollywood portrayed unrealistically. It was everything - especially in musicals! In "The Gang's All Here", in which Carmen sang "Brazil", certainly didn't depict New York City as anything like its actual appearance. If anyone thought that a New York nightclub looked like the fictional Club New Yorker (where Carmen performs in this movie), they'd be greatly disappointed! Because nothing in real life looked or sounded like Hollywood's version.
