Two yrs ago I had papilary thyroid cancer & nodules w/ thyroid removed, they left the parathyroid alone. I daily take 1200 mg of Calcium & 3000 IU Vit. D & 10,000 1x a month. My Calcium Blood Results Average between: 8.6 & 9.0 & my Vit. D is total: 63, low average/ My PTH Level is 15.2.
My question is: Do I have a Bad parathyroid because I have to take so much Calcium/Vit D to get normal levels?
I've had multiple kidneys stones, weak bones (fractures) along w/ bone cramping & pain.

thanks so much!! I will have this in last semester nursing school, starts next week, trying to get a head up on the things I had trouble understanding in the past. Not sure why I had such a hard time with this, you very much increased my understanding. I will definitely have a look at your other videos.

Knowing what the parathyroid glands are and how they control your calcium is the first step in diagnosing the disease. We are glad you found the video useful and I hope you will watch the rest of the videos for even more learning.

There is a near zero percent chance that drinking distilled water for any length of time would cause hyperparathyroidism.
