Yeah GM made this engine back in the 60's... Great engines...Lot of torque...

@papabugs71 um apparently you didn't,because I had several people who read it and they all understood that "it" meant open cab.Thanks for trying to enlighten me as to your prowess pertaining to the english language.Not sure why you felt compelled to bring me to task about something you don't understand.It is pretty clear,that what I had wrote pertained to an open cab.By the way the people who read what I wrote was an English major and 2 other college graduates.

@wannabenj Trust me, I did. Your sentence structure has thrown me for a loop. Define the pronoun "it" in the following sentence from your original comment:
"My uncle would say ,the driver hated it but he and the guys who held on to the back bar despised it"
What is "it" describing? An open cab or the fact that they were riding outside?
Just trying to understand what you're talking about.

@papabugs71 re read

@wannabenj Why would the guys on the back care if the cab was covered or not?

Ugh I always hated the open cab.It must have sucked driving that when it snowed or rained.I remember when I was a kid in North Bergen,NJ they had 3 fire trucks,Macks and they were an open cab.My uncle would say ,the driver hated it but he and the guys who held on to the back bar despised it There hands would slip because of the rain or snow and almost fall off.

That is an interesting engine. Any idea what department it served at? I had also never heard of the v12 gas engine it has. Very unusual engine. Thanks for posting this video.
