Born Asunder VX - First Teaser

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming RPG Maker VX game, Born Asunder: A Tale of Two Worlds.

The game focuses around the idea of angels and demons, but in a different sense than traditional mythology and religious views. Angels and demons are both a race of the world, both granted with unique abilities upon creation.

Angels have healing hands, and can sense despair and pain in others, as well as sickness and disease. They are not gifted with aerial flight like demons, but can move celestially from one location to the next when focused and experienced enough, be it a few feet to hundreds of miles. Angels live for approximately three to four hundred years, with some living up to the beginning of the world itself.

Demons can inflict pain and anger in others, and have very powerful persuasion and seduction through speech and other means, causing weaker beings to submit to their will entirely. They are gifted with a pair of wings at birth, but cannot achieve flight until middle-age. Demons live to be around four or five hundred years, and the oldest living demon is recorded at being seven-hundred years old. Whether there are older demons living in the deepest part of the world is currently unknown.

Humans populate three-fourths of the world, while angels and demons make up the other fourth, as well as inhabiting the celestial plains where The Great Being dwells. Having no special abilities or advantages in life, humans survive and off of sheer motivation and perseverance. The greatest cities in the world are run by humans, and some are strictly forbidden for angels and demons alike to enter.

The Great Being is the entity that keeps the balance of life in harmony in the world. There is no god or great demon, there is only the Great One, where all life began. It is neither male nor female, nor does it have any one form or physique, and it is currently unknown what the Great One would actually look like when viewed by the human eye. Angels and demons both dwell in the celestial plains with the Great One, and no human has ever tread on their lands.

Legion is a group of humans that dwell on earth that serve only one purpose, to hunt down angels and demons and other paranormal phenomena. Legion is split into what are called Divisions, and each are filled with hundreds of members to the shady group. Division One is he highest ranking group, consisting of the elders of Legion and the most experienced in demonic and angelic combat. All other divisions answer to number one. Division Two is made up of trained demon hunters, seeking out and killing any demonic beings they happen to find. Division Three is the same as Two, but seeks out angels instead. Division Four is consisted of hunters of the paranormal. Ghosts, spirits, poltergeists and other non-worldly beings are investigated and hunt down by number Four, as well as seeking entry points to the celestial plains themselves.
