These two units were switching tracks in the North La Crosse yard to make up a rock train presumably to fix the wash outs that occurred because of all the rain.

  • @rockchickvw I was there, and a BNSF worker came to us. before he said anything, we asked "hi how you doin'?" then he looked at us and he said "Stay away from the yard and rails" then we said well what are we doing wrong?? he just walked away. I hate BNSF workers.

  • Yeah I Know its hard to see them stored, but not all of them, I still see a few go through here from time to time

  • funny you should say that, cause their all stored!

    :P

  • Nice! Always fun to see those units with the old paintjobs.

  • There are three left in the blue and Yellow scheme, 8612, 8617, 8625. I really dont think the B40-8s are gonna go any where anytime soon. The have a good enough roll on the BNSF to power many of the Local freights and in any mixed consist . They have the Horsepower to get most freight moved and they are light enough to go on most branch lines.

  • hopefully not though

  • ya my bad the C30-7's are going but someday the B40-8s will probably go

  • another thing there is only 3 B40-8's still in SF paint the rest have been repainted to BNSF H1 paint

  • no they are not i know the C30-7's are i believe the B32-8's might be the B23-7's are probably what your thinking

  • you know lot of B40-8 are being sold to Brazil

    and still ATSF paint
