Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, CA had their F6-F Hellcat on display for their Air War in the Pacific presentation. A host of 3 veteran pilots were there to tell their stories along with a few dressed up British reenactor pilots. The flight demo was great and as always you can get really close to the taxi. Sorry about the weak focus in the air. Hard to follow those little buggers.

  • Yes she is a beauty! To be able to stand 20 feet away during taxi and hear those engines in a priceless experience.

  • What a big beautiful baby! Not much can match the sound of the R-2800 when she's growling. I had missed the part that the British flew the Hellcats on D-Day on June 6, 1944. The invasion stripes were a bit of a surprise to me! I had seen them on many other US made aircraft that were flown in Europe but hadn't seen the Hellcats. It makes sense because we sent them just about everything else we ever built and flew! :>)
