Written by Javier Borojovich

We have learned a lot working with hundreds of Laser sailors, including 17 who participated in the last Olympic games.
In our DVD, Advanced Laser Boat Handling we attempt to answer all the questions sailors of all levels usually ask us during our coaching clinics.

Tacks, Jybes, Windward mark rounding, Leeward mark rounding, and Penalty turns , are shown in slow motion,
from different angles including close ups from on board cameras .

With over 50 minutes of detailed explanation, each maneuver is sliced to easy to follow segments.

This DVD is the perfect instructional tool for any Laser sailor who wants to get faster to the next buoy.

  • What is the camera thing on the back called

  • We used the ViO Sport Camera back in 2008 but now the best camera for onboard video is the Sail Pro Camera with the carbon fiber stern mount.

  • yes it is okay to drag in light winds, but why would you want to?!?!?! you lose speed , draggin is also a disaster in heavy winds, as the boom and sail are pushed back by the water effectively over sheeting the main, which could lead to an accidental gybe and dun dun duuunnn deathroll .. i've learnt from experience, its a sloppy habit, dont fall into it

  • On our DVD, you will see the importance of having the boom out of

the water during a jibe above 6 knots. But, when the wind is 6 knots

or lighter, the benefit of a big roll, is much bigger than the

disadvantage of the temporary drag caused by the boom hitting the

water. In the last Olympic games all Lasers sailors allowed their boom

to hit the water. In the video here, the sailor is European Champion,

who also participated in three Olympic games.

  • I got one

  • @rsboy5 E-bay.

  • i just found a sailboat on the side of the road abandoned with a free sign, it does not have a sail but it is intact, the size is almost exact to the one shown in the video, i have experience in sailing bigger boats but where could i find a sail for that size of a boat?

  • Everyone knows the Laser boom is water soluble. A wet boom spells disaster.
