  • Amen. Christ is our righteousness.

  • Can't explain it any better than how Pastor John just did. I truly thank God for a man that's after God's heart such as him. All glory to God!

  • Piper: You're saved when you... 1. have faith in Christ, 2. know Christ. 3. Value Christ. 4. Treasure Christ.

Other than these four works, isn't there something you must also want from Christ? And is this wanting, then, a fifth work? And, must you want the right thing? If so, what is that right thing?

  • I would like someday to hear Mr. Piper talk about the case where someone has no intention of repenting or discontinuing any sins, but knows that Jesus is the Son of God, the righteous savior, Christ, etc. Are they really saved just by knowing who Christ is? Knowledge alone leads to salvation? Wish Piper would address this case.

  • Cool, thanks for sharing!

  • Hang in there. This is a good place to start, okay? I was 25 before I was saved and it took me a bit to get my legs for this new life we have. Don't spend the better part of your days looking back at what might seem like a setbck when it is actually just growing pains, tests, and trials. Like I said, Hang in there!

  • Truly inspiring, I admire this mans Zeal , and his knowledge of the Word. I hope one day I can be this intelligent. Please pray for me! I am 17 years old and in 3 months it will be one year since I've become a follower of Christ. I feel like I'm staying in place spiritually and have a lot of setbacks in my life which I need to get rid of. If you could pray for me that would be awesome. Thanks a lot. Peace.

  • Good stuff, John. In response to "for the sake of knowing Christ," look at what Jesus says knowing God and Himself means in John 17:3 (NIV) "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." Just knowing God and Jesus means salvation. Now I don't say that to discount the instructions for being saved, but instead to point out that's what knowing Christ was for Paul: Eternal life. Crazy stuff, huh? Anyway, I'll see you in Heaven, John.

  • Yes, it is a big deal. God is the reason for EVERYTHING. It's sad that we get caught up living for ourselves instead of our creator when we were made for him and with this short time we get to worship him with our life, its so hard for us to do it because of our sinful nature. I wish it was much easier to forget about myself and only live for god.

  • brilliant!

  • Amen a million times!... Justification by faith alone! we are nothing, we do not earn anything from God. our hope is in Christ alone!!!

I love the music playing in the background, does anyone know what it is???
