  • Un vero tenore robusto - It has been a very long time since we have had such a dramatic Italian voice. After DelM & Corelli, there was only Martinucci. I regret that there are no recordings with this excellent singer. Same sad situation of neglect as the great baritone, Franco Pagliazzi!

  • Robleto Merolla, un grande ritiratosi troppo presto dalle scene per ragioni personali, e troppo presto anche dalla vita...E' scomparso improvvisamente pochi giorni fa. Grazie Maestro.

    R.I.P.

I have a lot of complete opera recordings of Del Monaco and a lot of recital recordings of Corelli. I don't have any Merolla records. Why? Because he didn't record very much. He had no major record contracts. He was a minor tenor. He was good enough to get cast in major roles at major opera houses but this probably reflects the general paucity of top flight tenors. Bruno Beccaria gets cast for much the same reason.

Adler made his remark in public.

Actually I was probably never better than a third rate basso. But I'll accept your assessment as a compliment.

Indeed I need a hearing aid. I have two but lost one a month ago.

I generally don't write negative comments about singers. But there are a few. Merolla and Florez both sound good records but both have quite small voices live.

  • @MusicalTenor23

    I believe you meant - You're - not - Your.

  • @Agorante Your a slimy dildo filled with shit! DEAF!

  • ypou have to realize agorante is a second rate basso with an horrible voice and technique needing an hearing aid

Ottimo Pollione

  • Agorante is DEAF - MEROLLA has been one of the most important Voices beside Del Monaco , Corelli and other Singers ...maybe he listened Merolla in a bas performance...it can happens , he's a uman beeing , not a machine ! Tell us , Mr Agorante : how can you know wath Mr. Adler said ?!? Stupid !!!
