I learned about Jason Becker 6 months ago and i believe if he wouldnt have that terrible tragic illness he would be better then Steve Vai today

he was better then Steve Vai at the age of 20

Maybe he was the Best Neo Classical Metal guitarist of ALL TIMES

yes and for Buckethead i heard he had 5 Teachers at the age of 19 Gilbert was only 1

of them and Shawn Lane was his Idol

  • @musicisthebestF jason becker was a very special guitar player/shredder, i believe him and gilbert are two of the best ever with a perfect mixture of speed and just great melodically as well.very sad story i bet they would have collaberated together

  • @musicisthebestF yeah and they were private lessons to i believe to buckethead or brian carroll whatever his real name is hah, gilbert is a musical genious with near flawless technique and speed.

  • @yuribertram - Darn that some ol' complex theory with a genius imagination.

  • Paul play the same old ideas today that he played back on '89, his musicality is based on the same old stuff.

  • I wish that Paul would make a solo album where it's heavily influenced by metal and classical stuff together.

His solo albums are OK, but it would be awesome if he could bring back the Racer X thrashy, shredding sound.

  • @Testacojones

I know he was teaching guitar to Buckethead (listen to Echo Song by Paul sounds like a Buckethead Song)

and he was teaching Bruce B. second guitarist of Racer X

  • @musicisthebestF About Paul Gilbert, he was a monster at a young age. Some people don't know that he was teaching at GIT at 17!!!

  • I see your points see where you're coming from. I only stated things said by Satriani and Vai from their own mouths. Vai joined Alcatrazz and that experience improved his shops by a lot, he said "Yngwie's solos were kicking my butt". I met Macalpine and Vinnie Moore and kept in touch with Matt "Dr Mastermind". My point is just like Lamborghini showed the way with the Countach then Ferrari followed with the Berlinetta Boxer, etc. Yngwie influenced everyone and inspired players to be better.

  • @Testacojones

Well i wouldnt say Yngwie opened up the Way for Steve Vai since Steve Vai was Allready amazingly skilled in 1981 at the age of 18

And Yngwie first Album was released in 1983 ( Yes i looked that up on Wikipedia )

Besides that Joe Satriani is WAAY better then Yngwie i would say Joe Satriani opened up the Way for Paul Gilbert & John Petrucci & Andy Timmons
