Hey everyone! I'm Neil Garcia your host for wehopediatv.com your online video guide to being Gay in LA, and the West Hollywood lifestyle. Welcome to the the gay nightlife edition of Wehopedia where I'll be discussing Mother Lode.


Mother Lode is the antidote to the trendier side of Weho gay scene. What this dive bar lacks in glamour it makes up for with cheap drinks, convenient location, and a relaxed atmosphere. This has been a local gay watering hole and a great spot when you don't feel like dressing up and dealing with the stand-and-model scene at the scene-y bars across Santa Monica Boulevard.

MotherLode has two floors, two bars, a pool table, karaoke, and the only pinball machines on the boulevard. The mirrors add to the people watching at this notorious cruisey hangout. The drinks are incredibly strong and very cheap. Often times gay club goers will flock to Motherlode before hitting the clubs to fill up on cheap drinks. Because of the wood paneling and high ceiling it may seem like your drinking in a barn.

I love Mother Lode it's one of my all time favorite bars in the world. I have had a great laughs in there. Staff are lovely too! Love from Scotland :)
