  • You really talk with your hands; ha.

  • @Mirachey LoL yes I do.

  • I agree that minority characters represent the whole of their people to an extent. With that in mind, I don't see why it's negative that he doesn't believe in god; you seem to suggest that this is an embarrassing thing! Would there be a problem if the character believed in god? He would still be representing the beliefs of a people. I would much rather a gay character perpetuate the stereotype of gays being non-religious, as these religions are offensive to LGBTQs, than to promote archaic dogma.

  • @tylurlee Religion is a touchy subject. People get really into/angry from both sides. Believers and non-believers are very passionate about the subject. I just thought that it should have be left out of his story line altogether, but if they were going to have it in they should have had another gay that thought the opposite just to have balance.

  • @tylurlee You missed the WHOLE point. I was saying that it should have been left out of his storyline period. Or that they should have had another gay on the opposite side so that it was balanced.

  • It's actualy funny, because when i watch this episode, when Mercedes sung a gospel song for Kurt it was for me like "you don't believe in god, but god loves you anyway". Let's say your gay (daaaa) and society is homophobic - this song was like a date with a girl, to please other peoples, and Kurt beliefs ... doesn't matter. And when i thought that episode was to religious and fanatic, you said it was to laic. Funny, isn't it?

  • @MiszaWro I said that religion should not have been part of his story line at all.

  • I really appreciate how respectful you are when you are voicing your opinions. Thank you for it! This is how we can come to understand each other, and move the human race forward. :)

  • I agree completely. Also, I think Flavor Flav is his own race and species entirely, lol. :P

  • @0its0green0 The U.S. media shows diversity within gay males. There are a decent number of shows on television that have masculine gay male characters, so why should we hide the effeminate gay males from exposure? Both types should be integrated into mainstream media. Also, so what if Kurt is a flamboyant and an atheist? Most gays are irreligious, just so you know. I'm sure there are also gay theists on TV. Depicting diversity does not hurt the community, it helps it.

  • @Marllon You seemed to have missed the last part of my post. I don't mean that I think of him, or any LGBTQIA+ individual, that way, but that is one stereotype that has existed about queer people for some time now, and the character is built off of stereotypes about gay men. Saying that a gay character hating religion isn't negative demeans the attempts of religious LGBTQIA+ people who have been trying to get accepted into their religious communities. Also, all stereotypes are negative.

  • @kcirtap7551 So, atheists are losers now... *sigh*

The world is never going to get anywhere with that kind of antagonism.

  • @0its0green0 Kurt embodies stereotypes, but they're not negative in nature, unless you as an individual associate it that way. How is he remotely comparable to a sexual deviant or a pedophile? Your views towards him are disgustingly monstrous.

  • In all honesty, the Glee character is really offensive. Might as well make the kid a pedophile and sexual deviant as well. I mean, a lot of people think that about LGBTQ+, so why not add that? That's what his character is based off of, right? Stereotypes?

  • I totally agree, when you don't know one or several people in a "minority" and they appear on TV/in magazines etc. people see them and label not only them but the entire "group" this can be good/bad for the "group" depending on how this/these person/people act. It either shouldn't matter in a show (but it often does cous they have the "the" ... guy/girl) or it should be left out. I hope you have a great day and I hope I didn't misunderstand your opinion. :)

  • your skin tones confuses me... it looks really, like dyed or something, but it's real! O: its so amazin!

  • totally agree!

  • I agree with you :)

  • You are absolutely right. Why bother having a gay character on the show if it just perpetuates all the stereotypes of gay individuals and the queer community? We try so hard to rid ourselves of these tired, cliche stigmas and it's a shame that one of the most popular shows on tv, all about musical theater no less, chooses to portray it's "gay" as a cry-baby atheist loser.
