How to self pierce - Advice, Tips and Tricks!

A lot of people shun self piercers without giving them advice, so I'm going to give advice on how to self pierce without shoving a safety pin through your face.
Here its about safety, hygiene, equipment and placement.
Basic advice and tips on how to make your self piercing experience as safe as possible, what to look out for, what equipment to use etc.

And for those who are doubtful of my knowledge, I've been piercing for over 4 years, Trained in a studio for a year in total, hung around in studios and have been pierced more times than your average bear.

@MHLou Ask whoever you want whatever you want. I'm just giving advice based on what I was taught when I training as a piercer and what is mainly common sense. I make it clear that people should go to a professional if they aren't capable of doing it themselves. I'm not teaching technique, I'm informing people of cleanliness!

Well I can assure you right now I'm not depressed nor lonely. I have a fantastic job, fantastic friends and an amazing fiancee who makes me incredibly happy. If you honestly think you can judge my mental wellness by my image, you must be stupid.

Where you are from it sounds like piercers go through a much better training program then here.

Please tune in your small closed minds. Just because you don't like the way somebody modifies themselves, doesn't give you the right to judge what is beautiful, and what is not. Personally, I think it's beautiful. You only get to live one life, and you live it the way you want to. So instead of judging , why don't you learn from this and no be afraid to be who you are and express yourself.

okay so last weekend i did a second piercing myself, im using sterling silver, i didnt use ice and didnt numb it, i sterilized it with a lighter and the leftover piercing solution i had from when i got my cartilige pierced last year. idk if i should take it out or not; am i totally fucked??
