a romanian dance played on a home-made PVC kaval.

this is a Bulgarian-style kaval, but I am humming into the instrument as I play it - this is often done with the completely different Romanian and Csango kavals, so doing it with a Bulgarian kaval might result in a 'strange' sound, as you can hear : )

heya,

i was trying to be inventive and hum into the kaval - that's why the tone is muffled. :) (i think hungarians do it with different flutes, not sure about romanians or bulgarians)

also i never had a teacher so i can't play it properly.

Caval my friend is all over balkan,its played in turkey,Romania,Moldova,Bulgari­a,Serbia,Albania,everywhere,

so its not only macedonian.And if you lsiten to proffesional Romanian/Moldovian caval players,you will not say that the best sound is from macedonia.

Very nice... I made myself a pvc kaval like yours, but I still can't play like yuo. Many compliments... For experimenting also. I sharped the edge of the intrument and play it even with the persian ney technique and shakuhachi technique. Experimting is smart and cool, don't listen to those who say it's bad. :-)

Kaval is macedonian instrument and the best sound of kaval is macedonian!!! You people should listen macedonian dances and see what is art
