This was the first half-time show performed by the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band during the 2008 football season. This was for the home game against Wisconsin on September 13, 2008. The opener features the opening of Thriller, transitioning into a medley of I Want You Back and ABC, both songs from his days with the Jackson 5. The second song is a disco-pop song called Blame it on the Boogie. This song was still with the family, but it was from when they were known simply as The Jacksons. The closer is a medley of Beat It, Billie Jean, and Thriller, which are all hits from Michael Jackson's Thriller album. Another feature of the closer is that the bass line during the chorus of Thriller was replaced by the bass line from Smooth Criminal, another Michael Jackson hit. One last thing to listen for at the end of the show are subtle hints of quotes from earlier in the show from ABC and Blame it on the Boogie.

  • great sound. Great arrangements. but the drill didin't make any sense to me

  • Well, we had a week of band camp and two weeks of the school year (and we don't rehearse as often as Big Ten bands) to learn pregame, this show, and enough stands tunes to sound good for a nationally televised game. I might've made the music a little too hard for that time frame, but the drill writer was smart and wrote really easy drill so we could learn it quickly since this was also the only game we did this show at.

  • Wow! Definitely awesome. The drill is so tight! It looks like you're so close to each other, but it doesn't look like they are collisions! And SUCH STRONG PLAYERS! 5/5 Absolutely fantastic. :)
