I can't wait for Gimp 2.8, this is gonna be an amazing help for future projects. Feels like it's taking forever for the release (December 27th if I'm not mistaken), but it's for the better as Gimp's gonna have so many updates, and improvements. I think I'm falling in love with GImp 2.8 lol :)

cage transformation tool crashes gimp any time i'm trying to use it. sadly it's not fixeable since there only seem to be like 5 people on the internet with this problem. would be fine if the perspective tool would let me manipulate every line/point in its grid, i don't know why that tool wouldnt let me do that, wouldve been my first thought when including it but what the hell do i know

Ummm... No.

It works like this.

As far as the 'no way to make it permanent', you simply press enter after you have the effect that you want... just like the tool tells you to at the bottom of the screen "Press enter to commit the transform"

As for 'random changes', I am sure they might appear that way if you don't know how the tool works, just like a saw makes 'random' cuts.

I assure you, after grasping its basics, it is quite useful.

This tool looks useful. :p Much less confusing then the one they have installed now.

It doesn't do this. Cage tool in gimp 2.8 just doesn't work - I play and play with it, but it just makes random changes on the screen, and then they disappear when I select another tool anyway. There's no way to make the changes permanent (not that I would, since they're just random garbage).
