I can't wait for Gimp 2.8, this is gonna be an amazing help for future projects. Feels like it's taking forever for the release (December 27th if I'm not mistaken), but it's for the better as Gimp's gonna have so many updates, and improvements. I think I'm falling in love with GImp 2.8 lol :)

@rodhatte AFAIK it's broken in the new GTK+ version GIMP 2.8+ will use and they are working on it, so DON'T PANIC, WILL YA! ;) Anyway, I'd like to see a new dev version of GIMP even with broken tablets support. >Many< people don't use those and there's plenty other things to test out.

@Tome4kkkk Oh no, we can't have broken tablet support! Happy to hear they're looking into that. I noticed that they are entering Google Summer of Code again this year, and that some of the stuff they want to implement in 2.8 is in there as well. It probably means that we wont see a stable release until autumn at least.
What I meant when I said the team was planning to get releases out more often after 2.8, I meant stable releases. At least that's how I've understood it.

@rodhatte During February and March this year the GIMP team released plenty of info regarding ongoing development. Probably as a reaction to the real concern among community members caused by no news at all :) Anyway, it looks better now. In fact if not for the broken tablets support we might have seen some new dev release already.

@Tome4kkkk It's how it's always been with Gimp. However, after 2.8 they are planning to get releases out more often.
