This is a video of the first level of a pirate NES version of Super Mario World. The game is impressive compared to lots of pirate games, but the physics and lots of other things are quite off.

  • @GameMasterR5 You actually can spinjump here, by pressing up and jumping.

  • When I saw Pirate Super Mario World, I was thinking something totally different...

  • programming for the nes must be the worst shit ever with its whole 1 layer to work with

  • EAR RAPE D:

  • Not too bad for an 8-bit version of a 16-bit game...except for the sound. For some reason pirates are usually extremely incompetent when it comes to programming sound for the NES; although to be fair the NES only has four or five limited sound channels.

  • Say what you want, aside from the music giving me hemorrhoids - this isn't bad for a NES homebrew/pirate, from a technological standpoint.

  • @FingerMyFinger i have no idea, or better yet, why does mario put his shoes back on when he gets a mushroom? it makes no sense! either that, or he's wearing socks which have shoes inside, and the socks are too small when he has a mushroom, and they just....come off? either THAT, or this: i have no f***ing clue.

  • @pat20105 well i'm about to make the graphics even better! i use a graphic editing program caller YY-CHR. using this program, i'll restore the colors used in the super nintendo version, including the scoreboard at the bottom of the screen! (yeah, see the terrible colors they used?) get ready for a graphical improvement!

  • @Silenced23 look at super mario bros 1 then look at smb 3. can you even imagine they were on the same system? That's just the way it is. the longer developers work on a game system, the better they learn to use its power. IF they are any good.

  • If games could be made to look this great on the NES then why werent games made to look like this?
