Canadian Pacific's newest locomotive series, the 8900's (GE ES44AC's) began service late August 2011. Fresh out of the the Erie, Pennsylvania shops these new Americanized GE's are making there way to Western Canada to begin regular revenue service. In this video 8905-8906-8907 are seen in new shining red paint working train 255 on the Hamilton Subdivision. Certainly hard working machines these new locomotives sport the Block Script scheme, and within a few months on the mainline their paint will look just as bad as there earlier sister locomotives. • Nice! One by one they have been coming up the Mactier towards out west. I have caught 3 so far. Beautiful looking machines!

  • Thanks for the comment Jason! The majority of the 8900s have been making their way out west although one or two have stuck around the GTA.

  • I know I can't say anything bad about my employer, but man, this new paint scheme is so boring.

  • Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately the 'beaver' scheme and the 'dual flags' scheme have been discontinued to save more money at CP, instead all new units will have the 'block script' scheme.

  • Great video! Thanks!

  • @jagafoto. Thanks for watching!

  • Good catch! also in fresh Paint to awesome!

  • they are astounding machines. great vid

  • @Trainmasterkreks Lemme guess..... You are a hardcore EMD fan? Lol. Nothing wrong with that. I like EMD but I will always be a GE man at heart. Just opinions here; In my opinion, the GE is more visually appealing than the EMD, the traction motors load ALOT faster, there are more inverters which means you can lose more traction motors and still have power to the trucks unlike EMD. Not bashing them. EMD and GE both make great locomotives. Everyone has their own taste I suppose. Cheers.

  • Cool video Nicely done, Not trying to be rude, but the second train i like better, because of the 3 first units,
