I grew up on this kind of stuff. My dad played the fiddle and about all his bros and sisters and when we got together there was almost a big Hoe Down. We had the best time of our lives. They played bluegrass and lots of Gospel but they didn't know it was bluegrass then
Sadly almost all of the musicians, Bernie Linton, fiddler, Hubert Hollingsworth, banjo player, and the guy buckdancing, Ray Gray are all passed on to their maker. The guitar player can no longer play because of a stroke
I mean this is just GREAT! Such a punch and drive in this number. The banjo comes of as a bit light, could be the bad sound quality, but the drive in his picking is just great. The fiddle is just!! RESPECT!!!!!! The dancing... unbeatable!!!
This is a GREAT job on this song. Yep, o'l time is right. brings back days when I lived in KY. Thing about this lil song many may not know. This lil song as I understand is about John Morgan and his boys who were Confederate Cav. who raided into Ky. Miss Sally G. was one of them who would let the boys stay at her place too lick there wonds and get some'n too eat.
Thanks for posting!
