Actually, in the original series, he is credited as "Doctor Who". It's only in the show that he's referred to as the Doctor.

They referenced this back in a 2005 episode
The Doctor goes "We are now 100 years in the future." and before anything else happens he says "Lets go further than that, it's a bit boring where we are." So he went as quickly as he showed.

@Cam4334 I needed to put 'Dr. Who' in the title so that people will know what the video is about. I don't remember why I abbreviated the word 'doctor', though.
