Mountain bird and blizzard blown

the sun is never quite as bright
to light the sea and guide your flight

open air and salty breeze
mountain bird and winter seas
with fractured wings, you fly the same
and flightless birds below you pray

the ocean swallows sight of trees
and weary hearts begin to freeze
your mind retreats to better things
of mountain birds with healthy wings

the sea reflected mirror clear
revealing nothing living here
the icy winds remind you well
of barren mountains stormy shell

the other mountain birds are scared
to brave the colder winter air
though maybe once in calmer seas
