The problem with identifying poison ivy/oak is that they don't just grow by themselves. They are parasitic, and grow "overlapping" with other brush, low oak shrubs, entangled in trees. Look at dense shrubbery, low/felled trees, highway edges..etc. The leaves also like to vary in shape/color. Just look for the 3's...once you identify them you will find yourself taking second looks at any shrubs. Good luck.

If I ever go on Nature Hikes I want to know what poision ivy looks like so I'll avoid coming in contact with it. I find prevention to be the best cure though treatment is good too.
Meaning I know some extremely hard headed people and they'll appreciate my knowledge of how to treat poison ivy.
