A video blog asking if you want a touch screen based iMac. I ask this question as theres been rumors of one for some time and they've gathered some credence since Apple filled a patent recently for a desktop setup with a swivel screen that could double as a touch screen. Further rumors have posited the idea of an iMac that could auto switch or dual boot between OS X and iOS4 or a future version of iOS. Presumably the iMac could boot automatically into iOS when the orientation of the computer is changed to the touch screen configuration.

It is of course entirely possible that the dual booting portion of this rumor may not have any validity at all and Apple may introduce a new version of OS X that can take advantage of touch as well as conventional mouse and keyboard interfaces.

  • no, I like to use the mouse.

  • I have a touch screen IMac!It pretty cool

  • No, because: fingerprints on desktop computers are ugly; Apple doesn't offer a system with a user interface optimized for that and a "dual" solution would be kind of messy and not very Apple-like; it's not ergonomic reaching out to a huge display that's 20cm away from you. What I would love, however, is an implementation of Siri (or some other kind of natural language interface as a frontend to parts of the operating system).

  • Don't want a touch screen iMac would ruin a imac

  • why not an iMacPhone?

  • Got bored so I skipped about a minute. The guy didn't move at all. I repeated, only to find the same result.

  • Having more options is always better...period. It makes more sense for some applications/games to play with your fingers than mouse. I'll wait for the day Apple releases touch-enabled iMac. I believe these fanboys (who're against the idea now) will have no problem with it and buy one real fast LoL.

  • @melyt805 random pissed off dude LOL
