Dixie Dean documentary director, Ian Lysaght, talks to Eamonn Holmes on Radio 5 Live about the great man and his scoring record. Also featured is documentary contributor, Harry McLeish, who witnessed the 60th goal.
I'd heard it many times before, but I've always liked the story where Dean was hired on initially as a scout by Sligo Rovers. It then turned out that they didn't have a quality centre-forward, so Dean laces his boots back up and the new "scout" starts banging goals in left, right, & centre once again.
