A look back at some of the great little trains of Wales, filmed by yours truly while taking part in Wales Week with the chaps from SiF.

  • @MegaJake619 - its a chime whistle off a very famous steam engine. My videos involve trains. Go figure! ;)

  • I thought the majority of the subtitles unnecessary and some were childish. Pity as the video was quite interesting. Do learn to hold a video camera still or else use a tripod/monopod, please.

  • @drawstop - please get a sense of humour. I was on holiday with some friends, and this was footage I took on my camera phone. Never an easy thing to do.

  • @drawstop - incidentally - and having rewatched my footage - the subtitles give the name of the railway, and the locomotives used. Aside from the section where (as you do on holiday) sharing a bit of banter with my friends, where was it unnecessary and where was it childish? I am curious as no one else has held these views at all in the two years it's been up and the 8360 views it has gained.

  • I will attempt to watch the second half tonight..

Did you see the part where you are seen..?

  • I appear at least three times Leo...! Two unintentionally. I appear a third time in a bright orange hi-vis jacket.

Have been away doing some very exciting filming for a 16th of something or the other...forgive my late replies chap. :)

  • That really should be the other way around...Awdry based his mountain engine characters on the Snowdon fleet.

  • Snowdon reminds me of Culdee from the Railway Series.

  • @cornholio435 She's a beautiful engine, I have to go down there some time. It's hard to get around because I'm only 16 so i can't drive myself around yet :P

  • @MrMe345 Yeah, they did some job on her, hope to have a good look during the summer. I drive the one at Stradbally. :)

  • that sound at the start was literally the worst sound i've ever heard :L

  • Something I just learned, No. 7 on the Tallylyn Railway is an old Irish Bord na Móna engine. She looks very heavily modified from our own ones though

  • @disneyrangerblue02 so do i !

  • LOVE how you said 'Cinders and Ashes'.

  • After seeing all the fun you guys had, I SO wanna join the SiF!

  • @simierski Too bad they were only in one book. But then again, it was for safety reasons.

  • Some interesting footage of Tom Rolt, I've never seen good up close pictures of him and it's nice to see that he still retains his Irish family looks ;)
